AMPANG, MALAYSIA: A teacher is in trouble for allegedly having sex with a 16-year-old secondary school student in Rawang.
It is learnt the girl's father suspected his daughter was in love with the 22-year-old teacher which led him to lodge a police report.
Police investigations revealed that both have had sex twice since April.
A check-up at the Selayang Hospital confirmed that the girl was not pregnant.
Gombak OCPD Asst Comm Abdul Rahim Abdullah said the two were believed to have had sex at the teacher's house in Taman Garing Utama in Rawang.
"We expect to detain the teacher soon," he said, adding that the case is being investigated under Section 376 of the Penal Code involving statutory rape.
