SINGAPORE - A 59-year-old taxi driver has been arrested for a fatal road accident on the Pan Island Expressway last Wednesday (Dec 30), police said in a statement.

He was arrested for causing death by a rash act and his driving licence has been suspended, police said.

A 49-year-old motorcyclist died in the accident involving four vehicles along PIE towards Tuas on Dec 30.

Investigations are ongoing.

If convicted, the driver can be fined and/or jailed up to two years.

Police advised all road users to remain vigilant while on the roads, for the safety of themselves and others.
