In his rally, Tan Kin Lian got his family to speak for him, is he short of people who is willing to speak for him? He has no connection at all?

Getting family members to speak for him is a very bad idea, it is like putting your family members in your job application reference list.

Tan Kin Lian described as a 'man of courage' by daughter
SINGAPORE - Presidential candidate Tan Kin Lian cut short his speech yesterday to ensure that his daughter had enough time to make the last speech at his rally.

And Ms Tan Su Ling, 35, duly took the limelight as she recalled how her father was "a lone voice" when he spoke up for affected investors during the Lehman Brothers Minibond saga in 2008.

Describing her father as a "man of courage", Ms Tan, a trained architect, said: "Do you think he had a lot of friends when he stood up for the common people? No. He had no friends at that point."

Noting that her father has never stood in a General Election and has not been involved in formulating Government policies, Ms Tan said he is the "most independent, non-partisan" presidential candidate.

By the way, it is not just the daughter, the brother and wife also took the stage to speak.

Sounds like Tan Kin Lian has no friends?

that's the problem with being independent. no backing. but it can be a good thing. no baggage.

Not when you are playing this type of game.

Getting your relatives to speak for you is no better than putting your relatives as references in job application.
