1. Change Engine Air Filters

What Happens When You Don’t Change Your Car’s Air Filter?
If you leave your engine air filter to clog up, it begins to act less like a filter and more like a blocked airway. Here’s what happens:

• Your engine must work harder to get enough clean air into the chamber to complete the combustion cycle. Attempting to pull air through the restricted filter can create a vacuum effect and it’s possible for particles to get sucked through the filter and in turn damage internal components.
• Because of the engine’s suffocating state, a dirty air filter can also cause it to consume more fuel than it would with a clean one, causing a reduction in overall fuel efficiency.
• If your filter is saturated with dirt, you may experience a lack of power under hard acceleration.

2. Take Note of You Car's Warnings
Send your car to workshop if the following signs appear:

• Loud/Unusual brake noises when braking
• Car leaks oil when you park
• Car tends to sway to one side when u brake
• Engine heats up faster than usual
• Unusual engine paddling sounds when driving or starting vehicle.

3. Engine Oils
Check the engine oil using a tissue to wipe the engine oil stick after servicing. If it is still dirty, it means that the engine oil was not fully changed. Many car dealerships are known to not fully replace the engine oils during free servicing period. Good engine oils don't cost a lot more and if unsure, select lubricants as recommended in your car manual.

Don't pour in more oil when you know your engine oil is dirty or low. Always get the workshop to drain them before adding new ones.
