Jack Neo has made some of Singapore's most popular movies, but many of his most ardent fans are in Taiwan.
Money No Enough 2, his 2008 film about family values, has been playing non-stop in a cinema in Taichung since May 20, 2009. That makes it the longest-running movie in Taiwan's movie history.
Some 150,000 people have watched it at the second-run Wonderful cinema, which screens movies at a fraction of the price charged at first-run houses.
Wonderful's owner, Mr Hwang Ping-hsi, 60, and a father of three grown children, is himself the movie's No. 1 fan. He screens it once every weekday and twice on weekends at his 30-year-old movie house.
