業者指出，近來大環境景氣不佳，公司決定縮小展店規模，調整經營策略，原有大八四維店員工將安排至公司其他單位，不接受公司安排者，將依法資譴。至於外傳公司跳票問題，已事先跟請款的廠商協商展延付款，「該給的都會給」。
高市勞工局表示，雖未接獲大八的勞資調解案及大量解雇通報，但仍會主重關注事件發展，維護勞工權益。
另外，高雄春鑫食品是在地不少早餐店吐司供應商，也以團購香酥麵包條聞名，傳出8月1日起公司大門深鎖，老闆避不見面，高市勞工局昨天前往了解，也是大吃閉門羹。
勞工局指出，由於春鑫食品月薪隔月10日才入帳，迄今尚未接獲有勞工提起欠薪等勞資爭議調解；春鑫食品今年5月投保人數近60人，已請公司員工儘速申請勞資爭議調解，勞工局如接獲勞工提出積欠工資、資遣費或退休金等調解，會全力協助，必要時也會協助勞工辦理事業單位歇業事實認定，以利勞工後續向勞保局申請工資墊償。
