Syabu found in wallet of police officer injured in accident
KUANTAN: Hospital staff found a packet, believed to be syabu (methamphetamine), in the wallet of a senior police officer who was seriously injured in a road accident on Friday.
It is learnt that the packet contained powder and crystals weighing 0.8 grams.
Police told Bernama that the packet was discovered after the officer was admitted to the Tengku Ampuan Afzan Hospital after his car collided with a concrete-laden trailer at the Jalan Kuantan By-pass at 7am.
The packet has been handed over to the Kuantan police headquarters for investigations.
"The packet containing the powder and crystals was reported to have been found in the wallet of the officer who works in Pahang," a source told Bernama.
Pahang police's disciplinary unit has been instructed to commence investigations into the case.
Pahang police administration/traffic enforcement officer ASP Zainalabidin Othman said the officer was on his way from Kuantan to Gebeng when the accident happened.
"The officer was seriously injured...he suffered internal bleeding in the abdomen and broke his left knee," he said.
