Man Dies After Assault at HDB Block - Suspect Arrested for Murder
Police have arrested a 45 year-old Indian man in connection with the death of 44 year old Cong Cheng Li after he was assaulted at the void deck of Blk 301 Woodlands St 31 on 8th March 2009.
On 8th march 2009 at around 7.20pm, Police responded to a ‘999’ call and found Mr Cong unconscious at the void deck of Blk 301 Woodlands St 31. He was believed to have been assaulted prior to Police arrival. Mr Cong was conveyed to the National University Hospital where he subsequently passed away.
After round-the-clock enquiries and extensive probes, Police tracked down the suspect and arrested him on 10th March 2009.
The suspect will be charged in court on 12th March 2009 for Murder which carries the death penalty.
