they also lost many veteran naval pilots early in the war by not rescuing them when their planes went into the ocean. unker sam made it a point to search and retrieve pilots when they went down in the water.

biggest dud in naval history. they were supposed to be super mobile weapons ready to deliver firepower across oceans but ended up in the scrap heap especially after ww2. now they are just museums asking for donations.
