If all the opposition parties other than WP combined and formed one party, i.e. a third major political party, who would you want in the CEC?
My suggested CEC of 12 is as follows:
Chiam, Jimmy, Ben and Wilfred from SPP.
GMS, Steve, Tony and Jeanette from NSP.
Vincent, See Jay, Michelle and Siok Chin from the SDP.
Some notes and suggestions:
1. Apologies to anyone left out and their supporters too.
2. Chiam to be Chairman, all other posts including secretary general to be elected by CEC members.
3. No more father-son, husband-wife, brother-sister, etc in the CEC. If Tony and Hazell for e.g. want to continue contesting elections and be in political parties, they can but in different SMCs or GRCs. If Hazell proves to be the better performer or more popular among the members, she can be elected into the next CEC. But not both at the same time. Same applies to the Chiams, the Chees and the Lees.
4. No gay rallying or lobbying activities for CEC members. Be gay can, gay lobbying cannot. For that matter, no street protests or any kind of illegal protests and no nude photography hobbies either.
5. Siok Chin may be an unusual choice, but I think she can be a contributor even though she may not be eligible to contest elections. Not really her fault she has an unusual brother.
