STB exploit indie designer's work?

We are very disappointed to find out that the Singapore Tourism Board has decided to recycle our work wholesale for this year, without informing us at all.

It was a project that they didnt really believe in initially, because they didnt know what purpose it would serve, and why there is a need for it. We put in so much hard work to help them organise the complex information and set up the presentation format to make it "make sense" for the readers.

It was so successful that they received email compliments from the common Singaporean, and they even rehashed it for their Sydney Food Truck project.

So we are quite shocked to find out that we were not even invited to work on the project this year, and that they have given our design template to another agency to churn out the exact same formula wholesale. (We bet they used the famous "the-design-template-has-already-been-done-so-can-you-charge-us-cheaper" route to bargain down the prices too.)

All that talk about promoting Creativity and Intellectual Property..... A big government agency like STB bullying an independent agency is definitely not the way to promote this culture. This is indeed a sad sad day for the creative industry in Singapore.

When you create a design for them the IP becomes theirs. Read the fine print. Don't expect graciousness from the government agencies. Stupid Singapore companies cutting each other's throat to work for these guys.
