I grew up on a diet of cowboy movies. I recall scenes, where cowboys making their escape with the posse hot on their tails would spur their horses. Very soon the horse would collapse from exhaustion and the cowboy would dispatch of the horse with a bullet between the eyes. However, heroes with posse after them would out smart the posse and make his escape without having to spur his trusted steed.

I am wondering
1. how long could a person last with spurs in their hide?
2. do we want leaders spurring us until we collapse and dispatching us?

First he wants to meet his opponent cul-de-sag now he wants to put spurs into sinkies; the very citizens that put him in power. Even in ancient China the Emperor knows his mandate to rule comes from heaven and he is smart to know the peasants are his heaven.

Well, he could always start with having spurs dug deep into the hides of some of the grossly overpaid incompetent members of his cabinet, either to give them an overdue wake-up call and/or put some out to pasture.

For one who has been known never to suffer fools (zero tolerance and one strike, you're out) he has either mellowed or cowered in order not to suffer collateral damage in having to adopt this premise with regard to the jinx and not be seen to practice double standards.

You are thinking about those who are still hanging around collecting their fat paychecks from the country's coffers, but you may have forgotten those who have "left".
This is one nasty unforgiving person, don't ever doubt his willingness to use those knuckledusters.
But like all bullies.......................

Those that left have made their "spoils" and are now living a subbued good life. Those that served their master well are also now living the good life in secondary postings as a reward.
The real and present danger are these incompetant nimcoompoops who are in the cabinet and stat boards becoz mr knuckle-duster has mellowed (as the cul-de-sac is not much patronised now) and allowing them to continue in spite of all these snafus. Yakult has to be around, being the "grand mufti" but even mozzies and water are way over his head...
