<!-- START OF : div id="storytext"-->TWO women fell prey to snatch thieves while in the lift on Wednesday afternoon.
In the first incident, a domestic worker had her mobile phone worth $400 stolen at about 2.40pm.
She entered the lift at Block 466, Jurong West Street 41 with a man, whom she described as slim built and dressed completely in black.
She was texting on her mobile phone when the lift door opened on the sixth floor. As soon as she walked out, the man snatched her phone from behind and ran down the stairs.
She gave chase all the way to the ground floor, but saw him get on a black motorcycle ridden by an accomplice.
In the second incident at Block 173C Punggol Field, a 47-year-old woman had just returned from the market at about 4.30pm and was also in the lift when the thief struck.
When the lift door opened on the second floor, he pushed her to the ground and grabbed her sling bag.
When she refused to let go, he kicked her in the chest, and ran down the stairs with her bag.
In the bag were her mobile phone worth $100, some cash and her personal items.
She too described her assailant as a thin man dressed entirely in black. Witnesses should call the Police hotline at 1800-255-0000.
