If I am an Egyptian,I wouldnt celebrate now,because immediately I remember Myanmar 1958,the start of nightmare till now

General Ne Win,the commander-in-chief was asked to serve as interim prime minister from 28 October 1958 by U Nu-the prime minister then, when the AFPFL split into two factions and U Nu barely survived a motion of no-confidence against his government in parliament. Ne Win restored order during the period known as the Ne Win caretaker government'.[6] Elections were held in February 1960 and Ne Win handed back power to the victorious U Nu on 4 April 1960

After having a tatse of power and good life,Less than two years later, on 2 March 1962, Ne Win again seized power in a military coup d'etat. Ne Win became head of state as Chairman of the Revolutionary Council and also Prime Minister.



That was the start of military rule in Myanmar,1962-2011+,and the country turned from the richest in SE Asia to the poorest in the world.

I must also say that MM LKY was a good buddy of General Ne Win,he went to Burma in 1963 to congratulate General Ne Win and said in a conference,"What a change,General Ne Win has changed Burma to be a more disciplined and progressive country!"Francis Seow mentioned this in his book.

Unlike Egypt, Singapore government still has the support of the vast majority of the people - including all the foreigners who have so passionately embraced SG citizenship because of the Sg government. Congradulation eyptian for moving forward their wishes for a new government that represents themselve. But you guys are right there is no guarentee that their aim will happen or things turning ugly.

Actually, decomcray is precisely the system to avoid what happened there,. The system hopes to execute changing of power peacefully via fair election. one person one vote.

Gathering in mass again the dictator can cause a tiananmen easily, hundred ran over by tanks.. It is totally correct to see that things can turn even worst like myanmar now that the power is temporary pass to the bggest as..shole ie military.
