Kudos to Changi hospital's eye surgeon

I AM 70. I have been seeing an eye surgeon for routine check-ups at a restructured hospital since my mid-50s.
One day when I was teaching in class, my vision blurred.
Immediately I went to seek treatment from my eye surgeon. When the nurse checked my vision, I could see only the largest letter in the chart. I was told the pressure in both eyes was so high, I could go blind any time.
When I saw my surgeon, she was on the phone and sounded in a rush to go home. She told me if my eye pressure worsened the next day, she would operate.
I was recommended to see Dr Aliza Jap at The Eye Centre the next day.

=> Why wasn't she given IMMEDIATE TREATMENT if it's so serious? Did she know how serious acute glaucoma can be?

Currently, Dr Jap is at Changi General Hospital. She gave me tablets to bring down my eye pressure, then checked the pressure over the next five days to bring it down to normal.
Dr Jap also referred me to a cornea specialist to confirm if the cornea in my right eye was cracked. After investigation, she found out that my eyes are allergic to certain preservatives in eye drops.
Since then she allows me to use only eye drops and eye gel that are free from preservatives. Soon my cracked cornea was healed.
My left eye is good as Dr Jap treated it in time. Although the pressure in my right eye is normal, Dr Jap has tried several eye drops to bring it down further, to ensure it is not dry and so that I could avoid surgery.
Dr Jap always tells me that if my eyes feel uncomfortable, I should see her quickly to avoid any delay in treatment.
No words can express how grateful I am for Dr Jap's skills, professionalism and concern for her patients.
