A 42-YEAR-OLD Singaporean bank employee was killed after the taxi she was travelling in was rammed in the back by another car in Sabah, East Malaysia.
Ms Catherine Teo Poh Suan, who worked for a Swedish bank here, was on a work trip with 23 colleagues when the crash occurred at about 2pm on Sunday.
The group, believed to be employees of Skandinaviska Enskilda Banken (SEB), had arrived in Kota Kinabalu last Saturday and were due to return to Singapore yesterday.
While details are sketchy, the woman is believed to have been with at least one other female colleague, a 38-year-old Singaporean, at the time of the accident.
They were said to have been shopping in the city and were on their way back to their hotel, the Sutera Harbour Resort, when their taxi stopped at a traffic light junction.
As they waited for the lights to change in their favour, a car apparently rammed into the taxi from behind, causing it to jerk forward, hitting a motorcyclist.
