SACKED Singapore Press Holdings (SPH) senior executive Peter Khoo Chong Meng, 47, was arrested on Friday but is out on police bail pending further investigations.
Khoo was questioned at the Tanglin Police Division Headquarters at Kampong Java Road for nearly seven hours before he was allowed to leave at about 7pm. He was driven off in a black Toyota Camry.
Dressed in a dark brown shirt, he hurried to his car from the lobby, ignoring questions from reporters. He shielded his face as his car pulled out of the police compound.
He has been arrested on suspicion of criminal breach of trust (CBT), which carries a maximum penalty of 15 years in jail and a fine.
Earlier this week, Khoo confessed to receiving illegal payments and misappropriating shopping vouchers meant for branding and promotion activities for The Straits Times.
His confession came as SPH's internal audit unit was reviewing expenditure in various departments within the newspaper.
