The Prime Minister- in-waiting

Ever since The Straits Times has published the possibility of Education Minister Heng Swee Keat and Social & Family Development Minister Chan Chun Sing to succeed PM Lee Hsien Loong as prime minister in the future, there seems to be a decidedly attempt on the part of The Straits Times to give more prominence to Minister Chan as the more preferred choice of the prime minister-in-waiting. Hardly a day passes without The Straits Times giving publicity to the so-called political posturings of Minister Chan, be it in expounding government policies or clowning among old folks. Without doubt, the prediction of being the prime minister-in-waiting could not have passed off without a heady effect on this young minister. Will this be manifested from now on in his persona when dealing with the public or with his colleagues?

What kind of a prime minister will Chan Chun Sing project if indeed he becomes the prime minister-in-waiting? He is hardly a popular figure in the Internet world and judging from the amount of snide comments about him is a clear indication that he is the least likely minister to be welcome as a prime minister-in-waiting by this section of society. In the beginning of his political career, he was fond of asking his audience to "kee chiu" (raise hand), and so he was seen as a joker given the moniker of "kee chiu". He is commonly known as kee chiu on the Internet.

As far as the discerning Singaporeans are concerned, he is one of those army wallahs appointed ministers to fill in the gap when suitable talents from the private sector are, for cogent private reasons, giving a wide berth to PAP political appointments despite being strongly approached. So this is a golden opportunity for these army wallahs, or for that matter any other minister including PM Lee, to amass wealth from the millions of dollars in salaries from taxpayers' money. It is very clear in the public mind whether these ministers are in it to serve the people or just self-serving, notwithstanding their not infrequent pleadings that they are not self-serving. Opposition parties should give prominent emphasis on this point in their election campaign in GE 2016.

It is clear that Minister Chan Chun Sing has had only army experience when he was appointed acting minister and his performances in the political sphere so far can be described as run-of-the-mill. So his appointment as full minister after a short stint as acting minister without any performance of value to show, can only be mystifying to discerning Singaporeans. But then Minister Chan can take comfort that he is not the only one among a host of ministers who have been underwhelming in their performances. This is a point opposition parties should make when commenting on their humongous salaries in GE 2016.

If the political status quo persists or gets worse, PM Lee Hsien Loong and his PAP will find it hard to reverse the wheel of history in GE 2016.

Kee Chiu is a puppet ...Old Fart has designated him as another seat warmer for his grandson. Yes, the Old Fart knows how to play on the emotions. Kee Chiu didn't have a father in his childhood ...Old Fart knew that and decided to be Kee Chiu's surrogate dad. And you can see how Kee Chiu is fawning over Old Fart and LHL.

we should give everyone a chance to prove himself
we should not judge people rather prematurely....

it is the system, not the person.

Nothing to prove if the system is in control.

like how the US put a monkey in the space ship and the system control the space ship. Monkey do nothing but is a scape goat.

we should give everyone a chance to prove himself
we should not judge people rather prematurely....

yes, the system can be changed or improved
but a person's character and performance can be very unpredictable
history has proved many expert watchers wrong
but sometimes, watchers' predictions can be right
so it's still the destiny and fate of the people...
if we want changes, we have to do something ourselves....

If we have a strong democratic system with checks and balances, the system will sustain itself. Crooks will be weeded out. Abuses will be contained if not eradicated. Yes, we will have to trade-off some efficiency but that is worth it when people have a true say in their lives.

if we want changes, we have to do something ourselves....
Sinkapore Spring or civil war?

If KEE CHIU can be PM of Singapore, then Singapore is truly fcuked. He looks even more idiotic than LHL

good to note that no GRC or SMC is considered "safe" by the next GE :D:D:D

If you know what smart Sinkies already knew, the Straits Times does not act on its own. The puppet receives orders from its masters to crank up the spin.

Kee Chiu signed a "pre-nuptial" agreement to be only a seat-warmer as a Prime Minister, to step aside for a famiLee memebr. If Kee Chiu upholds the agreement, he will retired with millions of dollars. If he breaks it, he will be castrated.

He ain't got no bolls lah, this Kee Chiu, which is what is good for only.
If got bolls on his part and his boss, see if they can put him in SMC.
Failing which, designate him the leader of one GRC.
See whose bolls drop first.
Conclusion: there won't be any castration. The bolls will drop first.

The US has "In God we trust" on their dollar notes. We need "God help us" on ours.

Kee Chiu go foreign visit and honoured with guard of honour. As he walk pass the guards, all fell one by one dying of laughter !:*:

For sure this Kee Chiu is somehow related to the Lee Family.
Otherwise, there's no reason for his to attend LKY Wife's funeral.

Based on history, the seat for PM will only be handed over to someone LKY trust.
This interim PM must be someone who is much smarter than LHL.
Otherwise LHL's son will not have chance to become PM in future.

kee chiu is a backdoor mp. hopefully he would follow the route of georgie and voted out after oldman up lorry soon. in fact many of tg pagar grc were backdoor mps. once the oldman no longer backs them up, 6 wards shall be lost just like aljunied grc. yeah!!

CCS to me,lack the look and stature of a PM...with his kiddy look, u reckon when he speaks, he will garner any attention? however, it seems he is the 'designated' one, just look at his meteoric rise...a short stint as acting minister and he become full minister, despite the fact that the ministry that he was acting - was subsequently divided up. Look at the other contestants - Heng - helming education. TCJ leading Manpower. TCJ still acting minister - meaning his star has fallen?

Heng has a nerdy look. The other black horse is Lawrence...he seemed to be rising too. But of the three, i prefer TCJ but too bad.

And CCS - despite his CDF position, still need experience in finance & little foreign affairs...come the day, Singapore is being lead by a kid.
