P.A.U. was once suggested by my li'l brother leetahsar. it means People Against Upgrading. it was thought of as a crazy bo lia idea until today....

was driving to holland V market, the one closer to commonweatlh main rd. was pissed!! the market was all barricade up for upgrading. wtf!!

can be very sure that after upgrading, every food prices shall go up. there won't be the $2 veggie beehoon anymore or $2 liang tofu. many other foods may even see its last days cos i heard many of the hawkers intend to give up.

then i heard from my pals that chinatown hawker centre would be upgrading soon. why? thought it was upgraded a few yrs back. why repeat?

quite a number of hcs are marked for the god-knows-why upgrading.

one thing for sure, all food prices shall be exorbitantly increased. many hawkers would give up theirs stalls. customers sure would be lesser due to increased prices.

then u ask: WHAT THE HELL THE GOV WANNA UPGRADE? who benefits in the end? nobody. only the blood sickiening greedy gov who would be much happier to increase rentals and force out all the honest to goodness original hawkers. either that to make ends meet, they would reduce the costs in preparation of their foods. quality sure to drop.

someone or group should initiate PAU to protest redundant hc upgrading. :(

Same reason as why they dig up the roads, then fill them up again, dig up the roads, then fill them up again.

One thing I really detest about those upgraded hawker centres is they have removed the round tables and replaced them with rectangular ones.

I know what they're trying to do: increase the seating capacity = justify higher rent.

There's something wonderful about dining at a round table... that cannot be felt by sitting at a rectangular one.

mei ling hawker centre is as dead as ever after the upgrading. many stalls are either vacant or wind after not long operating their stalls. prices are all up ridiculously. still the hawkers are lamenting about lack of biz. how can it be good? their rentals are up by so much. how to survive? but the worst hit are we the patrons who find it difficult to buy reasonable priced hawker food. mei ling in the first play shouldn't ve been upgraded. the good thing is the provision of a lift and escalator. then again...what's the point when customers are now even more lacking :((

queenstown hawker centre situated at margaret dr was an unique eating place until they demolished it mercilessly. why? the land there is very valuable. that's what the gov only thinks. money and more money. anything else doesn't matter anything else to them. what a bunch of sordid motherfuckers!

ABC market after upgrading has seen lesser people. foods prices are up at least 50c to $1+. b4 upgrading, 2 fishball noodles would sell from 11pm to morning. now one already closed down while another raises its price fr $2 to $3 with lesser noodles and ingredients too.

what is the gov thinking?? upgrading to inrease rentals and everyone gets hit and adversely affected :((
