The Business Times today reported that even more MPs were air-dropped into PE yesterday, including Madam Halimah...

Many PAP MPs - backbenchers and office holders alike - have come forward in the last few days to stump for Dr Koh on his campaign, which he said showed the solidarity of the party.

He said: "This is a reflection of us, as a party, that we are a team, there are people always working together. In the beginning, the intent was to let residents see me as a person and get to know me first.

"When the sense was that they have started to know me and recognise me, we now have (the other MPs) coming down to touch base and show the solidarity of the party."

Speaker Halimah who admitted that she did not know Dr Koh well, but did not bat an eyelid when she said:

Madam Halimah, an MP for Jurong GRC, said she believed Dr Koh would speak up in the House with "rigour and great passion" if he were elected.

"He's got the heart to serve the people, and that's really very important. He has put in tremendous amount of effort in the last few days to connect with the ground and that really speaks volumes for Poh Koon," she said of the 40-year-old colorectal surgeon.
