What is the problem? The US does this all the time. For example, UK can't use its nuclear missiles without green light from US because it is the US that gave the UK the technology.
Sweden is a peace loving country. Thai use of the Gripen jets was for offense, not defense. That's the issue. Unlike the F-35s which the US can disabled remotely, the Thais can still use their existing Gripens. The Thais can buy the F-35s for their next jet.

U must think that Singapore can suka suka use it's F-16 and F-15 against anyone they want? The US holds all the source codes. U must get approval from them first to use the aircraft.
