SINGAPORE – A man was conveyed to the Singapore General Hospital on Wednesday (Feb 7) afternoon after he lost control of his vehicle, which plunged into a canal along Lower Delta Road.

According to the police, the 29-year-old driver was driving his lorry along Lower Delta Road at around 4.56pm when the accident happened.

TODAY understands that the driver lost control of his vehicle and subsequently crashed through the protective barrier surrounding a canal that is several metres high.

A video of the aftermath of the accident showed a white lorry lying on its side as Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) personnel climbed down into the canel with the aid of a ladder.

The police told TODAY that the driver was conscious when he was conveyed to hospital.

Investigations are ongoing.
