A Singaporean law student has been charged in Hong Kong for assaulting his girlfriend.

Brandon Tee, 24, a student at the National University of Singapore, met Ju Benhua during a year-long student exchange at Hong Kong University.

The incident happened on 8 July. The couple had a fight in Tee's apartment in the Central district and he hit her.

His girlfriend filed charges after he allegedly attacked her.

Tee's mother said: "They were fighting and yes, he hit her, but it was a spur-of-the-moment thing and out of anger. We're hoping to settle this out of court."

Tee is currently out on HK$10,000 (S$1,500) bail. His parents have flown to Hong Kong to accompany their son during the court hearing.

The court hearing has been adjourned until 10 Aug as Ju – who is still in contact with Tee - is reluctant to take the witness stand.

This kind of farking chow ah beng face also can make it to NUS Law Fac! I can't imagine what kind of fark up lawyer he would become when he graduates! I hope he'll be convicted and be slapped with a jail term. That will put an end to his career as a lawyer for good!
