SINGAPORE: Channel NewsAsia had asked viewers for their feedback following Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong's National Day message, urging Singaporeans to think about their future.
Channel NewsAsia asked Singaporeans to tell them their aspirations and hopes for the country, and, so far, its Facebook page has received close to a hundred responses.
It was a mixed bag of responses ranging from issues touching on work-life balance, immigration and improvements on public infrastructure.
Elaine Tan wants to see a "real distinctive advantage for Singaporeans with fewer foreign talents to compete with for jobs."
While Merlin Kun hopes Singaporean workers will be able to spend more time with their family.
Ee-Yuing Wong wants to see a more inclusive society where the poor, the elderly, the disadvantaged have access to the country's resources and wealth.
While Lee Nah Heng hopes for a vibrant city with well-planned infrastructure that maximises the use of Singapore's limited space.
Education Minister Heng Swee Keat and a team of younger ministers have been tasked to take a fresh look at the countries policies as it tackles future challenges.
Singaporeans will be consulted in this review.
Details on this process will be revealed in the next few weeks.
