For the global investors with deep pockets, Singapore is the easiest market to penetrate. It is so because Singapore has developed itself into an international business-oriented economy.
Taxation
Singapore taxation system implements the territorial-based corporate income tax. It ranges from 0% - 17%.
The personal income tax rates are progressive and for Singapore citizens and permanent residents, it ranges from 0% - 22%.
The non-resident individuals are charged at a flat rate of 15% or the resident’s rates. However, the non-residents have to pay 20% of personal income tax.
Real Estate
The citizens and the permanent residents of Singapore get HDB loans from the banks at the concessionary rates.
The banks give loans to the non-residents also. These individuals get up to 50% - 80% of the cost of purchase as the loan at the very economical interest rates.
The corporate can also apply & get, as much as, 80% of the purchasing price in the loan. They also have the option of choosing either the floating/fixed-rate packages.
Property Tax
  • For the Owner-Occupied Residential Properties, it ranges from 0% - 16%.
  • The tax range for the Non-Owner Occupied Residential Properties is 10% - 20%.
  • The Commercial and Residential Properties that are used for the Non-Residential purposes are taxed at 10%.
  • The owners of the vacant plots of land are taxed at 5%.

Singapore is proud of its transition to a knowledge-based economy. Singapore’s open trade policies, infrastructure, social stability & the communication links to the rest of the world also act as an added lure.
