Under the GRC system of election introduced in 1988, minority races are treated like cannon fodder, just expandable tokens or disposable entry passes into parliament, whereupon which (like used condoms after the deed is done) , the ruling PAP simply forgets their existence the moment the election results are declared and dumps the used entry tickets into the trash can. The moment election results are declared, immediately the excuse of 'minority race representation' is as quickly forgotten and buried, aka the 'cheque bounces'. Minorities are betrayed in as much as they have been promised adequate and dependable representation in parliament and this need for representation seems to dissappear just like Cinderella's horse carriage the moment election results are declared and like all other GRC MPs, the minority MP then becomes in as much expandable, as he is under the wicked parliamentary whip ('wicked witch') instructions /spell, always being told what to say and how to vote in parliament and always fearful of being stripped of his PAP political party membership at the slightest sign of non compliance (just another ordinary cog in the wheel of PAP dictatorship / hegemony) https://www.todayonline.com/singapo...as-it-been-lifted-and-which-countries-have-it . The easiest way for PAP party to throw such a passionate/ outspoken minority MP out of Parliament, without any opportunity for recourse vz by-elections, (even though he is a well respected and loved MP by all races, able to bring all races together, his minority race being of no impedance but an asset to all) . This threat of expulsion without recourse to by-elections is always a dark cloud (sword of Damocles) ; an unnecessary hindrance to all groups and an oppression of free speech in Singapore.
But alas, when the wicked witches in PAP say NO. PAP can issue Bounced Cheques and PAP has the might and every right to do so. No correspondence will be entertained and all critics and accusers will be resolutely jailed, silenced or neutralized by the POFMA office.

PS: all GRC MPs (except the sponsoring cabinet minister) are basically political cannon fodder and GRC thus attracts the goons, retards and cowards into politics in Singapore. However, minority races suffer the most disgrace under the GRC system of elections, since they have unwittingly become the unwilling accomplices to PAP misdeeds in misusing their representation as an excuse to create the corrupted and nefarious GRC system of elections when a much less obtrusive NCMP system of elections would have been much better applied and achieved minority race MP representation, with the strength of character and the conviction to represent their racial group in championing the interest of all Singaporeans, rather than just becoming PAP cannon fodder and betraying their own minority racial groups in the processing of becoming mere strait-jacketed GRC entry tickets/tokens.
Under GRC system of elections, great minority politicians in Singapore history (who became MPs of single seats in their own right) like JB Jeyaretnam, Michael Palmer, David Marshall, S Rajaratnam, Ahmed Mattar, S Dhanabalan, S Jayakumar, Yatiman Yusoff, Mohd Maidin Packer, Umar Abdul Hamid, Wan Hussin Zoohri, Chandras Das, Zainul Abidin Rasheed will be few and far between in Singapore.
