SINGAPORE: Several DBS and POSB automated teller machines (ATM) were reported to be out of service on Sunday.
The problem seemed to have started late Sunday morning with the affected ATMs being progressively restored from noon and fully operational by 3:00pm.
A Channel NewsAsia viewer, who wanted to be known as Ms Goh, said she wanted to withdraw some money at Kovan.
She said out of the five ATMs, four were down at about 11:00am. She also added that there was a queue and some people were frustrated.
Ms Goh said she called the bank’s customer service hotline and was told that the bank is aware of the situation and was trying to fix the problem.
Another viewer reported that an ATM at Bukit Purmei was out of service at about 1.30pm.
Some ATMs at Suntec City were also down.
A statement from DBS Group said a number of ATMs were temporarily out of service. And, at this point, DBS is unable to confirm the number of affected ATMs and the cause of the problem.
As the majority of the bank’s ATM network was functioning normally, customer contact officers were able to advise customers on the location of neighbouring ATMs.
DBS’ internet banking and mobile banking services were unaffected.

that why it better to have ocbc or uob account. can use another bank atm when the same thing happen.

The Singapore socioeconomic hub timebomb is armed. Look at the lanjiaobin of Leegime when it blows some time soon. Cleaners is just the beginning. I think Leegime wants to stress test Singapore for a bloody revolution.

By coincidence there was also a problem at Changi Airport:D

Glitch at Changi Airport delays 15 flights[/SIZE]
By Woon Siew Leng | Posted: 10 November 2012 1255 hrs

SINGAPORE: A glitch in the check-in system at Changi Airport resulted in delays to 15 flights on Saturday morning.

The airlines affected were Jetstar and Air Asia at Terminal 1 and Tiger Airways and Firefly at Terminal 2.

Changi Airport Group (CAG) said the airlines were using the same Navitaire check-in system provided by a third-party.

A spokesperson from CAG said the incident was first reported just after 6:20am and the system was restored by 8:50am.

But this still caused other flights to be delayed.

Tiger Airways said 14 of its flights were affected in total. And delays lasted about one-and-a-half, to two hours.

CAG understands the system breakdown originated in Australia, and airlines there using the system were similarly affected.

CAG said it will work with the affected airlines and the system provider, to examine options and avoid a repeat of Saturday's disruption.

All 15 affected flights have left for their destinations.

Nothing beats having a tin can filled with $$$. Even if there's a power glitch or bank network problem, you always have access to the $$$.

With things breaking down & longer queues, more people should consider this simple system.

Egg on face for DBS...dint they recently have the stupid advert for the future of banking...n the tag line of most secured bank...secure my lan jeow

Singaporeans will soon realize Leegime dogs are a dime a dozen and are paid high salaries not because of their ability which they DO NOT have but because of the responsibility of the position. You can find billions of shitheads like LKY with no value but you cannot easily find a good programmer and that could mean savings millions in dollars and lives. Loss of anyone in the Leegime is like someone dying in the slums of BJ, New Delhi or Manila. Nobody even bothers.
