Serious Singapore-Malaysia High Speed Rail Target Date

The rail project was first announced in 2013 by Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak and Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong. Both are scheduled to witness the signing of the agreement at their annual leaders’ retreat in Johor Baru, diplomats told Malaysia’s The New Straits Times.

The signing of the agreement will pave the way for construction to start in 2018, and the HSR is targeted to begin operations by 2026.
