Chua was Charles read assistant before he died of cancer(I think). Chua basically just took over Read's stable and carry on from there. Chua not really successful, strike rate so low. instead of blaming angmo trainers, why can't MRA local trainers take a leaf out of HKJC Chinese trainers? If Chinese trainers can make it in a highly competitive HK horse racing scene, I cannot see why MRA local trainers cannot.

if MRA use the HKJC method of getting rid of deadwood, majority of MRA local trainers would have lose their license long time ago. if I not mistaken, each HKJC trainer need at least 20 wins per annum, those cannot make it have to go to jockey club committee to give explanations and 2-3 years in a roll, license kenna kantong. This ruling put trainers at their toe and also can get rid of deadwood while promoting up and coming assiatant trainers to full license trainers.

at least STC can use MRA spelling stations in Malaysia to rest the horses, HKJC cannot go china for that.
