The Singapore Government has just spent S$1 million in a fellowship programme to train healthcare staffs from China and South East Asia. The S$1 million is spent to match dollar-to-dollar of the S$1 million from the Fung Foundation to train overseas healthcare staffs. The combined fund of S$2 million will be the seed money invested in the National University of Singapore’s (NUS) endowment fund which should generate about S$120,000 funding for the fellowship programme every year.
Young, not mentioning cheap, doctors and medical staffs from China and the South East Asia countries will then have the opportunity to work in the National University Hospital (NUH).

Do you think the money could have been better spent on educating and training young Singaporeans than foreigners?
