The former American Idol judge earned an estimated US$80 million last year. The 50-year-old dropped out of school at age 16 and landed a job in the mailroom at EMI. At 23 he left to start his own record label, Fanfare. Cowell recently shifted his focus to a US version of the The X Factor, where he serves as both judge and executive producer.

So is the maverick Sir Richard Branson! U need brains to do business too, though not necessarily in the form of paper qualifications. One needs to be entrepreneurial and have lots of EQ as well. A Phd holder can still be conned by a school drop-out!

Or, going further beyond it would teach them how to weigh all the risk and therefore choose a safer route to success.

That is why they succeed, they have nothing to loose!...there is a Chinese saying it goes like this " failure is the 'mother' or teacher to success", pardon he direct translation.

there are 2 type of high school dropouts student :

1) give up his life already and work for ppl ( confirm die )

2 ) fight for his life ....work for himself ( earn even more then uni graduates )

i have a few friends that didnt even finish their secondary school ...end of the day , its uni graduates that work for him ..
