Lately, it has deteriorated so badly, many footpaths are covered with fallen leaves that are not swept for several days; shrubs and bushes have dead and withered leaves and outgrowth that is untrimmed; and the exercise corner is covered with fallen leaves.
One of the toilets has a cistern that does not work.
The pavilion is also in a sorry state, with fading paint on the fa�ade. It also has a water-stained and leaking roof. The potted plants that line the edge have withered leaves due to negligence and lack of maintenance.
Ironically, a beautiful sign proclaims the partnership of PUB, MediaCorp and the National Parks Board, to protect and conserve the beautiful environment of the park.
It is high time the park was spruced up, to live up to the image of Singapore as a garden city for visitors and tourists. Chin Kee Thou
