A 46-year-old man was seen walking naked along Clementi Avenue 1 on Apr. 30 afternoon.

The scene was caught on camera by an onlooker who shared the photo with Mothership.

According to the onlooker, the man was walking outside Nan Hua High School, which is located along Clementi Avenue 1, at 5:45pm on Wednesday.

In response to Mothership's queries, the Singapore Police Force confirmed that they received a call for assistance regarding the incident at around 5:30pm on Apr. 30.

The man was apprehended under the Mental Health (Care and Treatment) Act 2008.

No injuries were reported.

Growing up, our next door neighbors had a schizophrenic son. He was diagnosed in his late teens. His uncle was also schizophrenic. His parents went through hell trying to keep him on meds, safe and off the streets. I know this young man went through hell too. This is an awful hereditary disease that can wreck an entire family. So sad.

I had a neighbor boy who was diagnosed with schizophrenia at about 15 or 16. When he was 16 or 17, he went into the garage at his house, drank battery acid, and doused himself with gasoline and set himself on fire. He lived 3 days. So, so tragic!

Very sad for this family. My best friend's brother is schizophrenic, most of the time he is fine, and high functioning, then he refuses to take his meds. The police usually get phone calls about his naked escapades, he never harms anyone, just throws all his clothes away, oh and one time dug a huge hole in the neighbors lawn, I forget what he was looking for. His Mother went back to University to study psychology, so she could help her son. It didn't help much, but the family understood what he was going through.

My son was 19 yrs old, when he was dx, it has broken our hearts. Refuses meds, been committed by family X 4, psychiatrist X 1.He punches holes in our walls, breaks countless doors, all family pictures had to be taken down and put away. It is frustrating as he is up all night pacing, talking to angels or demons, walks our neighborhood in his bathrobe. Very aggressive and angry. It’s like living with a monster, we lock our bedroom doors at night. Refuses medical meds, he gets two antipsychotic shots two weeks apart. If he left home I would go out of my mind with worry.
