TPG Telecom will be Singapore's fourth, and newest, mobile operator, after a successfully bid for the spectrum needed to launch mobile services here, the Infocomm Media Development Authority said on Wednesday (Dec 14).

It made the winning bid of S$105 million for the spectrum on offer, IMDA added.

MyRepublic lost the chance to integrate their Broadband business with Telco business.

4G trial program wasted. http://www.straitstimes.com/tech/myrepublic-starts-4g-trials-as-part-of-bid-for-fourth-telco-licence

SINGAPORE - Fibre broadband operator MyRepublic said it will charge consumers as little as $8 a month for a mobile plan - the cheapest available - should it become the fourth telco here. The cheapest comparable plan in the market now costs about $20.

Its broadband customers will get a better deal at $6 month. But this plan comes with only 2GB of mobile data and a chargeable add-on voice service. The price for the add-on has not been determined.

Remarks: MyRepublic is not profitable in NZ and ventured into Australia last month.

MyLee-Public obviously couldn't match TPG's kickback figures.

i give this TPG or whatever crap 4 years max before they go the way of Vodafone in SG.

Knnbccb!!!Why not have five telcos?U here for the consumers interest or the highest bidder?

Before the announcement, TPG's share closed for the trading day at AUD7.24

In the next two trading days (till now), TPG's market cap collapsed by 440million when share price closed at AUD6.72 this afternoon.
