SINGAPORE: Some 20 people were evacuated from Orchard Towers after a fire broke out early Wednesday morning.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force said it received a call about the fire at a pub on the ground floor of the building at about 5.40am.

The management of the building evacuated people from the first four floors of the building as a precaution.

The fire has since been put out.

SCDF said the cause of the fire is under investigation. - CNA/fa
