This birthday discount deal is available at any of Shang's restaurants: Blu, The Line, Rose Veranda, Shang Palace, Nadaman...but you must book in advance (up to 4 weeks advance notice), max 8 pax and drinks not included in the discount. I gather they even throw in a free birthday cake and if the birthday person is 100 it is a free meal and anyone older than 100 get's a rebate, can you beat that

If there’s one thing good that has come out from this crazy economic situation, it’s got to be the creative measures that restaurants all over Singapore have been employing to combat this slump.

The Sunday Times reported on restaurants offering attractive prices on their buffet offerings, by adopting a “pay for as long as you eat” concept, but here are two other offers which caught my attention.

Once again, Shangri-La Hotel has stood out with its really cool promotion, one which has gotten my friends interested in their grandparents’ birthdays. This promotion offers the birthday boy or girl a discount equivalent to their age at any of the dining outlets in the hotel. Simply put, if your grandmother is due to celebrate her 80th birthday, she and 7 other of her lucky family and friends will enjoy 80% off the dining bill.

anyone with a grandparents more then 90 years old? if exceed 100 years old are they going to give money according to the extra age as well? like 105 they give u 5% of the amount.

Seven younger people and one 80-90 year old can still eat quite alot. We are talking first class fine food from Blu, Nadaman, The Line and Shang Palace. Real value for $$$.
