This appears to suggest that our Prime Minister can actually choose to not respect the President, elected by the people to the highest office in the land as a unifying figure of the nation and a representative of the State itself.

That’s like saying the Prime Minister of Singapore can choose to not respect Singapore when he makes decisions. Wah lau eh!
