SINGAPORE: A man arrested in connection to the death of a 61-year-old in a flat at Bishan Street 11 will be charged in court for the offence of murder, said police in a statement on Sunday (Sep 25).
The 25-year-old, understood to be the son of the victim, will be charged in court on Monday. The offence carries the death penalty.

Police on Saturday said they received a call at around 8.20pm alerting them to the incident. When they arrived at the fifth-floor unit, they found a man lying motionless. Paramedics pronounced the man dead, at around 9pm.
Channel NewsAsia understands there were no visible injuries on the dead man. It's understood that a neighbour had called the police at around 8.20pm, complaining of noise pollution. It's believed the noise came from items being thrown around.
