This is definitely a wrong mindset to carry.Students are still young with a good brain compared to these old farts brain. They became a professor was because they were once young. After they grow old they automatically will become a senior professor but their intelligence will go down with their age. This is a normal process.

A professor (senior or otherwise) is not expected to be smarter than his students. He is there to guide due to his wider experience. However, to plagiarize his student's work shows nothing but desperation.
