for the sake of not tightening border control, now we are at same point as last year where JSS money needs to be dished out again by the government to save jobs and overall productivity gone down due to WFH. who will pay for the additional costs of testing our citizens? have we not learned anything from last year’s dormitory fiasco?
there are also companies that cannot work from home as their business are centred on having personnel or services at certain location, these companies require the government’s assistance as well
Government went to open up even though population was not fully or half vaccinated, neither did we prioritise travellers who were fully or half vaccinated
We even heard of stories where people got off quarantine centers earlier than 14 days once tested negative for virus.
we were slow to increase SHN for people from india from 14 to 21 days.
nobody is asking for complete border shutdown.
is it worth it to lose our potential air travel bubble with australia and hongkong and be economically shut off from the rest of the world just so we can welcome others to come in? That doesnt make sense at all as an air travel & business hub.
