That's because the low level sinkies are not playing their part. If you look at all the recent security issues eg the Mas Selamat escape, you'll find that it was not the fault of the government. It was because someone hired to do a job on the ground failed miserably.
Hopefully the new generation of imported citizens will be far more responsible.
With reference to the Mas Selamat incident, I completely disagree.
Excuse given in Parliament was Wong Can't Sing was not the one who left toilet window open so he was not to blame and doesn't have to resign. In the next breath that Idiot of a Prime Minister said that in the past Whitney Road detention centre was used to detain "communist" politicians and activists who had no desire to escape as that would be political suicide.
Someone high up made the decision to detain a terrorist, who WILL escape if given half a chance, in Whitney Road detention centre and that is the root of the problem. That someone had to be the Minister.
Even if there was a shortage of facilities, the Minister should have used his brains and added new security features on an urgent basis AND designed new procedures and processes for low level staff to follow AND made sure middle level staff supervised low level staff to ensure that these are indeed followed. This should include (but is not limited to) making sure that all windows are secured.
The SMRT security breaches, in all probability, would have followed the same pattern.
Former Minister Can't Sing, but someone else can
