So how? Their 'apology' does not seem like an apology at all. No heads roll? Shouldn't LTA be fined instead for such ranjiao lapse causing so much misery and financial losses to so many drivers?

Over 1,500 speeding tickets erroneously issued, affected motorists to get refunds and demerit points voided

The speed limit for three enforcement cameras along the KPE was incorrectly set at 70kmh instead of 80kmh between Oct 30 and Dec 8 last year.

SINGAPORE: A total of 1,523 speeding tickets were erroneously issued between Oct 30 and Dec 8 last year, as the speed limit for three enforcement cameras along the Kallang–Paya Lebar Expressway (KPE) was incorrectly set at 70kmh instead of 80kmh.

Affected motorists will have their demerit points voided and receive refunds for any fines paid, the police and the Land Transport Authority (LTA) said in a media release on Thursday (Feb 5).

The traffic police discovered the error during a regular audit in mid-December.

“The three enforcement cameras along KPE are managed by LTA on behalf of TP, under a larger service contract for KPE’s traffic management system. The incorrect speed limit setting was made by LTA’s contractor during a hardware replacement on Oct 30,” said the police and LTA.

“The error was promptly rectified by the contractor when discovered by TP. All speed cameras along the KPE managed under this service contract have been checked to ensure that the speed limits are set correctly. As a precautionary measure, TP has also checked all other speed cameras islandwide.”

Affected motorists do not need to take any action. The traffic police will notify them of the error.

All tickets and demerit points erroneously issued for speeding violations detected will be voided. Those who have already paid their composition sums will receive refunds through PayNow or bank transfer.

Apologising for the inconvenience caused, the authorities said: “We take a serious view of this matter and are strengthening our checks and controls to prevent similar occurrences.”

Affected motorists with questions or concerns may contact the traffic police via the Singapore Police Force feedback portal.

The PAP govt is broke. Expect more of these 'honest mistakes' to rake in the money.

Also expect frivolous fines. Drivers and PMD riders, please be careful.

I also expect some antics on the 'climate change' or 'rising sea levels' projects.

another 69 (kmh) fuck up. this 69 number is very troublesome but very popular among law enforcement jokers.

They outsourced the management of speed cameras too? Which company is managing them? A Tiong one? Hikvision?

Why do I get a feeling the LTA is a den of massive corruption and wastage? I'm sure the Auditor-General can dig out a lot of information from that trashy organization. And if shithole island were a civilized country, many individuals working there might have gone to jail.
