[h=2]SG’s Shame – Country built on modern-day slavery & sufferings![/h]

Yesterday was another milestone in Singapore’s colourful history. As a result of PAP’s authoritarian rule, many of us have never seen a strike before. Yes, I have to admit, I am 40 years old and I have never seen a strike. Not only that, it was only when I reached 29 years old did I have my first chance to vote! Prior to that, there were two walkovers because of this thing call GRC. Wait, I am digressing.
Thanks to these 102 heroes, which I sincerely hope that ALL Chinese newspapers in Beijing or other major Chinese cities will report, it will finally be made known how poor a host has Singapore been to these foreign workers. Not only do they have to leave thousands of miles away from their homes, their wives and their children, they have to live in horrible conditions and receive a second class treatment even among foreign workers!
Yes, you have heard it, even among foreign workers, there is a class difference!! Malaysians got higher increment and even a bonus, while Chinese workers got a far worse deal! Why? Are Chinese workers handicapped? Are Chinese workers working less hours? Mind you these Chinese workers have no qualms about getting a poorer deal compared to local Singaporeans. This is a fact that they understand and have already accepted. But why are Malaysian foreign workers given more?!
I have always said this and I will say it again, PAP’s government is ALL but a bunch of hypocrites!! They say one thing and they practice another. For instance, on the one hand they ask you to have more children, preferably three or more. On the other hand, they build smaller flats with maximum of 3 bedrooms. Assuming that me and my wife stays in one room, how are you going to allocate two rooms between three children?! Ask one of them to live in the living room OR better yet sleep along the corridor?!
Then of course, there is the recent debate to allow more workers to be roped into the Employment Act so that they are so-called better protected against the exploits of employers. Hello, Minister of Manpower, have you recently visited the MOM website? It states that minimum number of days for leave start at SEVEN!! This is the most glaring exploit, and you don’t want to change this first?
What does this SEVEN days actually mean? Most foreign workers are already working on 6-day weeks. Seven days of leave plus all the Sundays and Public Holidays effectively mean they would have worked 296 days for this year. This compared to most Singaporeans who work 5-day week and enjoy at least 14 days of leave, they would have worked only 244 days. The difference here is a whopping 52 days, which is around 1.5 months difference!! And you tell me that Singapore businesses cannot find Singaporeans to fill job vacancies!! Who the hell will ever want to work 296 days a year?!
On top of the long working hours with few days of rest in between, there is also the problem of horrible living conditions. Some time back, I saw The New Paper reporting – more than 200 Indians cramped into a hostel meant to take in less than 80 people! There were only a few toilets for these 200 men to share!! Shit and rubbish were all over the place, with mosquitoes and houseflies everywhere!! What if Cholera or Dengue Fever had broken out? Yet, when these unscrupulous landlords were prosecuted, most escape with a slap on the wrist!! If you ask me, these inhumane SOBs should be jailed for at least 3 years and fined a million dollars!!
Because of these insufficient and puny punishment given out by the courts, more people have been dreaming to become landlords. I recently heard someone quoting $500 to rent out the balcony of her 3-room flat in Ang Mo Kio. WTF?! $500 to rent a space that is big enough for a single bed with one small drawer!! The PAP calls this enterprising . . I call this highway robbery!!
Some ask why do I call it a Lee empire when Singapore is a democratic society? How can we be a democratic society when the leader of the largest communist state says that he want to model his country after us?! Surely PAP has done something incredible that even a proud communist of the world’s most populous nation want to copy you!!
I am glad and even thrilled that these foreign workers aka “modern-day SLAVES” finally revolted! It saddens me that we don’t dare to even exercise our basic right to react to adversities. We lose our jobs to foreigners, we don’t dare to protest. Our bosses become bastards by lowering wages, yet we don’t dare to strike. That’s why we earned ourselves the most emotionless people award. I say PAP gave us this award, so either we embrace it or we kick PAP out of Singapore once and for all!
This empire that progresses on the back of so-many slaves dares to say that sometimes doing the right thing is more important than becoming a populist government. This is exactly what a communist will say! The only scenario when a government can do the “right” thing and yet not be popular is when its people are all morons. PM Lee, are you saying we are all morons? Right now, I can only identify 60 percent of the morons, but that number is coming down thick and fast!!
Now, the government’s so-called doing “right things” are based on the thoughts of 93 people. These 93 people reside in Parliament House like what Ming or Qing Emperor used to live in the Forbidden City. You the PAP, just like previous Emperors decide what is right and anybody who does not follow is condemned as WRONG? Is building a casino “right” thing? As if one casino was not enough, you built two! Is overspending YOG budget by more than $300 million a “right” thing then?
We, the people, may not have received the BEST education in elite universities like Harvard or MIT, but we are certainly not MORONS!! You don’t need a rocket scientist to explain to us that what PAP has done all this while is not right at all!! And if you are not right and you are not popular, what happens to people like you then? And most important of all, you have brought shame to the whole of Singapore with all your nasty deeds!!
But no worries, Judgment Day is here soon!
