Serial thief jailed for 1 1/2 years for stealing spree

First, he stole from a friend who took him in when he had nowhere to stay. Ridzuwan Jamil, 33, then struck twice at Internet cafes until he was nabbed in January.
Out of bail, he stole the belongings of four people exercising in stadia.
On Wednesday, the unemployed man was jailed for 11/2 years. He had pleaded guilty last week.
A district court then heard that Ms Rohaiza Abdullah, 33, had invited him to stay at her Marine Crescent flat because he had no where else to go. On Sept 15, she left for Batam in Indonesia. Upon her return two days later, the unemployed woman discovered that a $1,600 laptop and a 32-inch television set valued at $350 were missing. So was Ridzuwan.
