Serial thief arrested

SINGAPORE - A woman aged 58, believed to be a serial thief, has been arrested by the police .
She is alleged to have been involved in a spate of thefts at a mall along Harbourfront Avenue.
The police said that they had received two reports of shop theft in early May, where a handbag and a wallet were stolen from a department store. The items were valued to be about $900.
Officers from Clementi Police Division were able to review the CCTV footage and able to identify her.
On May 15, officers spotted her leaving a supermarket in the mall with some items that they believe she had not paid for and arrested her.
They also found a television and a dvd player in her possession. If found guilty of her charges she can face up to seven years in jail and a fine.
