Two senior legislators in South China's Guangdong Province were removed from their posts on Wednesday following probes into alleged discipline violations, the legislature said.
Li Zhujiang and Chen Huayi have had their positions as deputy secretary-general of the Standing Committee of the Guangdong Provincial People's Congress terminated, said a statement from the committee.
Li was also removed as head of Guangdong's administration of oceans and fisheries earlier this month after the provincial discipline watchdog suspected him of accepting massive bribes.
The disciplinary body said Li and Chen are under investigation for suspected breaches of discipline. Li and Chen are among a number of senior officials and legislators in the wealthy coastal province that are currently under scrutiny for alleged misdeeds.
