SINGAPORE - A senior investigation officer from the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) was charged in court today for obtaining gratification in the form of sexual favours from a Chinese national.

Charges read in court revealed that Norezwan Bin Em, 27, had received sexual favours on three occasions from Liu Lihua to extend her stay in Singapore.

The incidents occurred on Oct 30, 2012, at a park near Block 601 Clementi West Street 1, and on Nov 2 and Nov 6 at Oxley Hotel 88 along Geylang Lorong 10.

Norezwan was a senior investigation officer in the Employment Inspectorate of MOM, a department which focuses on illegal employment, illegal deployment and other violations of MOM's foreign manpower regulations.

If found guilty, he faces a fine of up to $100,000, imprisonment of up to five years, or both.

SINGAPORE – A staff sergeant of the Singapore Police Force (SPF) has been charged with corruption for allegedly obtaining sexual favours from a suspect, in return for showing her leniency.

Parthivan Ramaya, attached to the Ang Mo Kio Police Division Headquarters, is accused of obtaining physical intimacy from Dwi Sulistiani on four occasions on 4 January 2013.

Dwi was arrested by the accused in connection to a theft case and was brought back to Ang Mo Kio police station.

Court documents state that Parthivan, 32, recommended leniency in Dwi’s theft case as an inducement.

The alleged sexual favours took place at the police station, Parthivan’s Yishun Ring Road flat and at a stairwell along Fernvale Road.

Separately, another law enforcer, a senior investigation officer at Manpower Ministry faces three counts of corruption.

Norezwan Em, 27, is accused of obtaining sexual favours from Chinese National Liu Lihua on three occasions at a car park in Clementi and Oxley Hotel 88 between 30 October and 6 November 2012.

The alleged sexual favours are an inducement for the accused to extend Liu’s stay in Singapore.

If found guilty, each of the accused faces up to five years’ jail and S$100,000 fine. CHANNEL NEWSASIA

Most of these cases kena caught with pants down when govt servant fails to deliver on promises made. For instance, the failure to further extend the stay of the subject.

i think that is the least of their worries, what is their job prospect after the jail, once they had a cosy well paid job, after job they will have massive problem and no money. How can their marriage survive? How can their family forgave them? It is like fallen off a cliff.
