Am I wrong or is this something that paints the party wrongly. The Kampung Night with its nice artwork and description seems to be something associated with a country or social club. Seems quite decadent.

Looks odd for a party that keeps harping on human rights, oppression etc

This is not the first time. They seem to organise the best events and it never seems to be in line with their cause. I am sure Singaporeans who are not blind supporters of the PAP tend to gravitate towards WP, SPP and NSP who are appear more austere and more closer to those who are out of step with the elites.

Though it is a fund raiser, the image is in stark contrast to what the common man wants. I also wonder why would people donate to SDP to send gullible youngsters to overseas political events.

Do not see an issue with poster. Any budding graphic designer could put that poster together in a few hours.

As for the actual even, it need not cost that much $. After all it is supposed to be fund raiser. So lets see, attap and banana leaves, bamboo scaffolding, buffet - nasi lemak, rose syrup drink teh tarik, kuey kuey and lots of old school music.

Flashback to simpler good olde days. I think it can be had for $10 per head.

I don't think it is so much of an issue except that it is the oft-persecuted SDP. Otherwise, the concept of SDP events have always been full of nice flair.

The SDP always have the most number of artists because of the champions they issue. For one, gays are commonly found in marketeer industries. In return they get help for design and video making. Also they are exposed to sexy slogans from overseas and never run out of them. With Gomez there, who had provided much of this area to Think Centre and WP, more will come for SDP.

People have to agree that SDP is doing well in numbers despite the share of votes. Who these numbers are are another matter, but you have to agree that they are pretty large number and committed in attending and organising.

You are however valid that it won't necessarily translate in votes and take a while for their vote share to improve significantly.

Whether it will translate to vote is up to the people to decide and not for an old man here to tell everyone that this or that will happen in future if SDP do this or do that.

Or SDP do this is no good or SDP do that is no good.

SDP IS creative enough to come out with new ideas and action that appeals to the young and of course they do retain the old concept for the old man. Internet appeals to the young and the young ones are western influence.

SDP will not do things or put aside any creative ideas just because someone here in this forum do not like it. This person should learn to accept that he is of old age and concept and all these new slogan does not appeal to him as it is cater more towards the young adults.
