SINGAPORE - The Ministry of Education (MOE) announced today that it will be revising school fees from 2013 in government and government-aided schools for non-Singaporeans.
School fees will increase by $50-80 per month for students who are Permanent Residents (PR) and by $115-250 per month for international students (IS).
Primary PR students will be charged $90 up from $40, while IS (ASEAN) will be charged $350 up from $235. Other international students will be charged $500 up from $345.
School fees for students who are Singapore Citizens (SC) will remain unchanged. Primary school education is free for citizens.
Monthly fees for secondary PR students, IS (ASEAN) and IS will increase by $65 to $120, $125 to $450, and $180 to $650, respectively.
Fees for local students will remain at $5.
Meanwhile, pre-university PR students will be charged $160 up from $80, while IS (ASEAN) will be charged $700 up from $530. Other international students will be charged $1,000 up from $750.
School fees for local students will remain at $6.
Monthly standard miscellaneous fees will also increase for all students by $1 to $6.50 for primary school students, by $2.00 to $10.00 for secondary school students and by $2.50 to $13.50 for Pre-University school students.
