Some ignorant people claim that what the ex SCDF/CNB Chiefs did with the gal was a private matter. I disagree.

The real issues are:

1. They are top civil servants. They carry with them the honour and pride of their offices and their organisations.
2. Whether taking money or having sex, granting favour in return is corruption
3. Their appointments were from the advice of Minister, Home Affairs. So if there was a mistake in their appointments, whose fault is it?
4. They were arrested on 19 Dec and 4 Jan. Shdnt this be made known to Singaporeans? Was there an attempt to cover up?
5. They were permanently replaced as Commissioner and Director. Shdnt such important appointment changes be announced publicly? Was there an attempt to cover up?
6. MSM didnt break the news. Was there an attempt to cover up?
7. MHA didnt come clean with its statement. Was there an attempt to cover up?
8. TCH's statement was a non-statement. Was there an attempt to cover-up?
9. The pap has boasted that it needs to pay Ministers and civil servants obscene salaries so as to get a 1st World Govt, prevent corruption and assure transparency. Shdnt the pap be questioned on their boast?

Singaporeans deserve better. Many questions have to be answered. That's a 1st World Govt with accountability and transparency.

Let's hope that the pap, claiming that they are a 1st World Govt, can come clean on this and not try to lie to Singaporeans.

The MHA's press statement in today's MSM is not promising. Let us hope for the truth from MHA and the pap

Where they dip their wick in today's society is not the issue - everyone does it, even in that you know who family. Issue is this. You want to play US style
of benchmarked performance transparency, show me. The CNB statistical massage is worse than wick dipping. If the tender was justified even without wick dipping, it is fine by me.
If crap was bought over state of the art, I have problem, dipping or otherwise. BTW, what has SCDF really done to show performance rather than draconian practice. Does SCDF really upgrade itself as a worldclass organization? Sticking to 1st principle draconian and myopic understanding of firestopping requirements is an obstacle towards 1st world progress

why dun TT ask WP to ask this kwestion parliament???

Yeah right...don't get distracted and let WP focus on the bigger picture..

During the next parliament sitting on 14 Feb (Valentine Day), WP will ask this question:

"Will the Minister please explain why the top civil servants succumb to sex and women. Why is it taking so long for the government to come clean and explain full story to everyone. Why does the government appoint such flawed characters to such high-powered position. What action does it take to prevent recurrence. Are they sacked or simply taking leave. If not sacked, what kind of message are they sending to the people of this nation. What impact are they having on the rank-and-file of the civil service. Btw, are they still collecting the taxpayers' paycheck ....Why are them hiding from reporters' with no comment...Why are they not living in their homes...."

The parliament and the whole nation will then roar into laughter.......

Who will be put on trial during the next parliament questioning ???

Good points..there are also many other issues which MHA has to explain.

Also, there may be other Chiefs who are shivering now. Not tasting the same gal doesnt mean that they have not tasted other gals. Nor does it mean that, if they did indeed abuse their positions, they will not be investigated.

Let us hope that something good comes out of this episode

There used to be a very very old general known holding orgies and loved pole dancing. He proved totally incompetent when assigned so many positions after leaving the force. One wonders if the praise of his pole dancing ability had more to do with the lapel stars.

He was an Ambassador and in Red Cross?

This is my guess/prediction posted in another thread. No corruption but dismissal for inappropriate behaviour:

For corruption to be proven, the "dui jia guanxi" has to be proven, i.e. the bigshots must be proven to have known that they are giving back something (possibly the contracts or deals) in return for something given to them (possibly the pussy).
If the bigshots thought that the "lovely lady" was merely head over heels in love with them or was hot for their bodies and they were not aware that the deals were being made in return for the roll in the hay, it may not be deemed corruption.

The next question would be whether it would be considered inappropriate behaviour for these bigshots to have a roll in the hay with their chiobu supplier without evidence of "dui jia guanxi" and what would be the punishment for that.

There are legal, moral and other issues here as they are the top men in their organisations. If they cant show exemplary conduct and bearing, how far down can the organisation condone? Will it lead to more rot if the big boss is less than completely righteous? This wont be condoned in 1st generation pap.

let's see how the present pap leadership tackles these issues

"Dui Jia Guan Xi" might be hard to prove and since it could be a high chance of inappropriate behaviour, why the big waves of publicity and storm. They could have dealt with it internally without even have to let the media know. My guess/thinking is that this is a calculated move to achieve 3 objectives- 1) Trying to showcase something to the people that the govt is capable of ridding corruption. To them, these 2 chaps are pawns at full disposal. After all, they have huge numbers of scholars always ready to take up the positions. 2) to quell any possible rumours about any other corruption cases that had happened prior to this. It gives impression that if there had been any, they would have been prosecuted and hit the headlines. 3) to re-build back the people's confidence in the govt and how talented and capable they are, especially those undecided voters who finally cast their votes to opposition. :)

The 2 Chiefs were involved with a representative of a supplier to their organisations. The supplier is tendering for jobs and she was selling the product/s that had been tendered and probably her company won the tender.

In my book, it is a serious breached of duties on their part. If they had been sleeping with women like a bank clerk or someone totally unconnected it is already quite bad.

It is obvious that the woman will be privy to sensitive information about the tender contracts as she has personal interest in it. Both men are guilty by being associated with her, period.

The Minister on the SCDF/CNB Chiefs : "I do not wish to comment on rumours"

PM on the SCDF/CNB Chiefs : ""You said yourself that these are rumours, why are you still asking me?"

Towards A First World Parliament ! This is how the First World Government should reply.

The problem for the 2 horny pawns is that they didn't know anyone "really important".
